Getting Started

How do I create a StoryTime account?
Download StoryTime from the App Store or Google Play. Open the app and tap "Create Account." You will need to provide your email address and create a password. As the parent or guardian, you create the top-level account. You then create child profiles within your account for each child.
How do I choose the right level for my child?
During registration, you will be asked about your child's current reading level. Level 1 starts with 3-letter CVC words and is ideal for complete beginners. Level 4 suits children reading short sentences confidently. Levels 6+ are for children with good reading fluency. You can always change the level from the parent dashboard if the initial choice is too easy or too difficult.
Can I have more than one child on the same account?
Yes. StoryTime supports multiple child profiles under one parent account. Each child has their own separate progression, reward economy (coins and diamonds), and reading history. You can add, switch between, and manage child profiles from the "Who's Reading?" screen.

Subscriptions & Billing

What is included in the free trial?
The free trial gives you full access to all stories, all four skill activities, the reward system (coins, diamonds, hidden games), the parent dashboard, and multi-child profiles for 7 days. No credit card is required to start the free trial.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through Apple (iOS) or Google (Android). To cancel: on iOS, go to Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions → StoryTime → Cancel Subscription. On Android, open Google Play → Account → Subscriptions → StoryTime → Cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds must be requested directly from Apple or Google, as they process all payments. On iOS, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, contact Google Play support. We are unable to process refunds directly.

Coins, Diamonds & Hidden Games

How do children earn coins and diamonds?
Children earn coins and diamonds by completing story sessions — reading a story and finishing all four skill activities (Read, Guess the Word, Listen Quest, Spot the Truth). Each completed story awards approximately 150–180 coins and 3 diamonds.
What are the hidden games and how do you unlock them?
Every 3 stories completed reveals a hidden vocabulary game. The game is unlocked using 9 diamonds. Once unlocked, each play session costs 100 coins. The games teach the same vocabulary words encountered in the stories — so learning continues through play. When coins run low, your child returns to reading more stories to earn more. This is the habit engine at work.
Can I top up coins or diamonds for my child?
No. Coins and diamonds can only be earned through reading stories and completing activities. This is a deliberate design decision — the reward economy only works as a habit engine if reading is the only path to play.
